OUR FOUNDER 

Summer Hutchens (Summer G) is an educator, leader, and founder of The Creation Academy, an organization dedicated to preparing youth for life beyond high school. Founded in 2009, The Creation Academy has evolved from its early beginnings in creative programming to a broader focus on youth development, workplace readiness, and self-advocacy.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and a Master’s degree in Special Education, and has been working in education since 2007, with the past three years serving in a leadership role supporting special education programming, teachers, and student outcomes.

A North Carolina native, Summer G began her creative journey as a self-taught fashion designer, launching her clothing line, Yces Haute, after learning to design and sew at a young age. After relocating to Atlanta and working in public education, she recognized a gap in opportunities that nurture both the creative and practical development of youth.

This realization led her to expand The Creation Academy into a platform that combines her passion for youth development with real-world skill building. Through her work—particularly with students in special education—she has seen firsthand the need to equip young people with the confidence, skills, and support necessary to transition successfully into adulthood.
